Join us in celebrating agriculture in Wabash County at the 2025 Salute to Agriculture Dinner on Wednesday, March 5!
Grow Wabash County and the Salute to Ag committee are thrilled to be celebrating the 2024 Farm Family of the Year. This year, the Ag Committee will recognize the Merrick Farms for their work and contributions to the Wabash County agriculture industry. Rod & Kyle Merrick of Merrick Farms, LLC are the 7th generation of Merricks to farm their homestead which began in 1835 by Isaac Merrick.
Grow Wabash County is also excited to announce that the Ag Committee has secured Dr. Fred Whitford as he is the coordinator of Purdue Pesticide Programs of the Purdue Cooperative Extension Service. He received a B. S. in wildlife management from Louisiana Tech University, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in entomology from Iowa State University. He has authored more than 250 research, extension, and regulatory publications, and has delivered over 5000 presentations to a wide array of audiences.
