Join us at the Museum on the first Thursday of March for coffee, donuts, and conversation before this month’s speaker, Sarah Siders-Bitzel shares about the history of the Miami Indians in our area. This event is FREE but we encourage RSVPs at wabashmuseum.org. Sarah was born and raised in Peru, IN, and is the daughter of G. Rex Siders & Nancy (Hammond) Siders. During her childhood, she attended a myriad of traditional events with her grandmother, Lora E. (Marks) Siders who served as the Miami Nation of Indians of the State of Indiana (MNI) Tribal Secretary for over40 years, as well as Tribal Historian. She is a member of the Miami Nation of Indians of the State of Indiana (MNI), serving as Mongosa Clan Grandfather Representative Tribal Council since 2002 and as MNI Tribal Secretary since 2003. She also serves on the MNI Language Committee, MNI Culture Committee, Godfroy Cemetery Committee, Clayton Cemetery Committee, MNI Museum Committee, MNI Foundation Board, Days at the Pillars Committee, and a founding member of the MNI Women’s Council.Sarah currently resides in Peru with her husband, John, and is employed by the Miami Nation of Indians of the State of Indiana.
