The Human Resources Manager, working jointly with the CHRO, provides leadership support with traditional HR functions, and collaborates with management team members to drive employee success across the organization. This position plays a vital role in the employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding to training, performance management, payroll, compensation, and benefits administration, while ensuring legal compliance and positive employee relations.

 

The Human Resources Manager will offer expert guidance and support to the organization in all aspects of human resources practices and processes. This role ensures compliance with relevant laws and regulations while implementing effective HR strategies and initiatives. The position is pivotal in attracting, retaining, and developing top talent, fostering a positive work environment, and promoting MPS Egg Farms’ mission, vision, shared values, and strategic directives.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

 

HUMAN RESOURCES LEADERSHIP

· Serves as a trusted advisor to employees and managers on HR-related matters

· Oversees employee relations matters, conflict and issue resolution, and disciplinary action consultation and assistance as required with CHRO review and approval

· Drafts, analyzes, interprets, and implements HR policies, processes, and procedures

· Works with management/leadership to develop retention strategies that foster employee engagement and reduce turnover

· Conducts investigations, documents findings, and provides recommendations as required

· Must uphold a strict level of confidentiality in all matters at all times

 

PAYROLL, BENEFITS, AND COMPENSATION

· Completes or assists with HR, Payroll, and Benefits related processes, procedures, reports, requests, inquiries, projects, and other related department requirements

· Assists in the completion of compensation and benefit documentation that includes yearly plan review, open enrollment, and benefits communications

· Conducts competitive market pay and benefit studies and comparisons and provides recommendations accordingly

 

TALENT ACQUISITION AND MANAGEMENT

· Assists facility management teams in their recruiting efforts to achieve optimum staffing levels at various company locations as required

· Assists with the recruitment process by writing job descriptions, placing recruitment ads, identifying candidates, scheduling and conducting interviews, and completing new-hire orientation/onboarding processes as requested and required

 

RECOGNITION, ENGAGEMENT, AND COMMUNICATIONS

· Drafts articles with respect to HR related matters for the company’s quarterly newsletter and other communications outlets

· Monitors and maintains the employee Service Awards program to ensure accurate administration and execution

· Assists the CHRO and other management team members with employee recognition and employee events planning and execution, i.e., company summer picnic, wellness events, employee appreciation event, and others

· Completes or assists with all Employee Engagement Survey duties and responsibilities that include conducting Focus Group meetings, documenting employee issues/concerns, communicating results to leadership, and action plan development

 

GENERAL ADMINISTRATION

· Produces and submits reports on general HR activity as required

· Maintains employee files and records as required

· Ensures compliance with Form I-9 Employment Eligibility Verification and addresses associated issues accordingly

 

OTHER DUTIES:

· Visits MPS locations as needed for employee events, investigations, communications, and other related purposes

· Provides interpretation services (Spanish) for leadership and other purposes as required

· Performs other associated work duties and responsibilities as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Strong people skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with a diverse workforce and various stakeholders

· Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work well without direct supervision

· Experience in a variety of HR Competencies that include: Change Management, Employee Relations, Compensation, Payroll, Benefits, Employment Law, Performance Management, Talent Acquisition, and Human Capital Management

· Courteous, friendly, highly ethical, and empathetic to the concerns of others

· Advanced Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) skills with an ability to become familiar with company-specific programs and software

· Must be comfortable with public speaking and giving presentations to large groups

·Must be well versed and able to utilize PowerPoint effectively

· Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written/verbal communication skills

· Bilingual Spanish is highly preferred.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

· Three to five years of similar professional experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.

· A related bachelor’s degree is required.

· Professional certification of PHR or SHRM-CP is preferred.
