The Town of North Manchester is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Utility Clerk to join our Utility Billing Office. This full-time position provides customer service support related to utility billing and performs a variety of clerical and accounting duties.
Key Responsibilities:
• Receive and process utility payments (in person, over the phone and by mail)
• Post payments, balance receipts, and assist with billing and accounts receivable reports
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding utility services and billing
• Register new customers, process service turn-ons/turn-offs, and schedule appointments
• Perform general clerical duties including data entry, filing, and answering phones
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Computer experience and basic clerical or accounting experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail, customer service, and communication skills
Position Details:
• Full-time, non-exempt
• Pay established by ordinance/resolution
