JOB DESCRIPTION

Perform all maintenance requirements throughout the plant. Perform routine maintenance on equipment, machinery, and systems to ensure optimal operation and to reduce equipment downtime. Focuses on identifying potential problems before they cause equipment failure and maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities.
 

SUMMARY

Current positions available for 1st Shift Mantenance Tech, 2nd Shift PM Tech, 3rd Shift PM Tech.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Dismantles machines or equipment, replaces defective parts, and adjusts feed mechanisms.

Cleans and lubricates machine parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears, and bearings.

Replaces or repairs machine belts.

Removes dust, dirt, grease, and waste material from machines.

Paints machines or equipment to prevent corrosion.

Bends and cuts conduit and wire, and drills holes in walls, floors, and ceilings for electrical connections.

Bends, cuts, and threads pipe, cuts openings in walls, ceilings, and floors for pipes, and seals pipe joints with sealing compound.

Cuts out and joins parts for worktables, benches, shelves and other furnishings.

Patches or replaces plaster or plaster board and paints walls, ceilings, and trim of building.

Clears clogged drains, and replaces plumbing fixtures.

Operates welding machine to repair or join metal parts.

Performs preventative maintenance work orders on a timely basis.

Furnishes Industrial Maintenance Technician with materials, tools, and supplies.

Cleans work area, tools, and equipment.

Prepares and sets up machinery for scheduled production runs.

Complies with all Environment Health and Safety Rules.

Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Perform routine maintenance on all equipment directly or indirectly related to the cell operation.

1. Inspect, clean, lubricate, and adjust equipment and machinery according to maintenance schedules.

2. Identify worn or damaged parts and replace them to prevent equipment breakdowns.

3. Maintain accurate and timely records of maintenance work completed, including service logs and parts used.

4. Collaborate with machine operators and production staff to understand performance issues and ensure minimal disruption to operations.

5. Assist in troubleshooting and minor repairs during downtime situations.

6. Follow all safety protocols and procedures while working on equipment.

7. Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance work areas and tools.

8. Participate in continuous improvement efforts related to equipment performance and reliability.

9. Assist with inventory control for maintenance supplies and spare parts.

10. Support other maintenance and repair projects as assigned by the supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

a) High school diploma or GED required, technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance or a related field preferred.

b) 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or preventative maintenance roles preferred.

c) Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

d) Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

e) Strong attention to detail and ability to identify potential issues before failures occur.

f) Excellent time management and organizational skills.

g) Basic computer skills for logging maintenance records and using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).

h) Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., work on ladders, and perform duties in various environments (hot, cold, noisy).

Fork trucks, lifts, maintenance repair equipment, hand tools

All chemical used throughout the plant. See MSDS listing.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Environment: Enclosed structure with moderate temperatures ranging from 55 degrees to 100 degrees. Higher temperatures near the oven for short periods of time. Noise levels up to 94db. Work may be performed standing and kneeling. Occasional working in lift.
