Program Coordinator

Position Status: part-time, 25 hours per week, Monday-Thursday
Hourly Pay: Commensurate with experience
Reports To: Executive Director
Location: Wabash, Indiana

Position Summary
The Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing day-to-day
program operations to ensure high-quality services for families. This role supports program
development, data tracking, and community engagement while maintaining alignment with
Babe of Wabash County's mission and values.
The Program Coordinator serves as a relational leader—creating a welcoming environment,
fostering community connection, and ensuring programming runs smoothly, efficiently, and
with excellence.

Key Responsibilities
Program Implementation & Oversight
● Plan, coordinate, and execute weekly programming and special events in alignment with
the objectives of the Family Learning and Development Program
● Prepare materials and supplies for classes and activities
● Ensure programming aligns with the mission, vision, and goals of Babe of Wabash
County
● Monitor attendance and engagement
● Maintain a safe, welcoming, and organized environment

Family Engagement & Support
● Welcome and assist families during programming
● Oversee and support existing educational programs
● Encourage positive parent-child interaction within programs
● Identify family needs and communicate concerns to leadership
● Continue to develop and grow/evolve programming

Data & Reporting
● Track attendance, participation, and program outcomes
● Assist in collecting and organizing data for grants and board reports
● Maintain organized and accurate records and documentation
Community Collaboration
● Coordinate with guest presenters and community partners
● Coordinate support groups and educational groups
● Support outreach initiatives
● Represent Babe professionally in the community

Administrative & Operational Support
● Assist with scheduling, communication, and preparation
● Maintain program inventory and supplies
● Evaluate and recommend improvements to strengthen program effectiveness
● Oversee programming spaces, ensuring they remain organized, current, and reflective of
Family Learning and Development objectives
● Maintain working knowledge of day-to-day operations
● Assist with front desk responsibilities as needed
● Provide tours of Babe and communicate the mission, vision, and values to prospective
patrons and community members
● Collaborate effectively across all areas of Babe, including facilities, programming, family
coordination, volunteers, the boutique, and daily operations
● Contribute to the overall health and effectiveness of Babe of Wabash County by
supporting additional duties as assigned by the Executive Director when organizational
needs require collaboration beyond primary responsibilities.

Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in early childhood education, elementary
education, nonprofit leadership, child development, or related field
● Strong organizational and time-management skills
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
● Ability to work independently and collaboratively
● Experience working with families and children preferred
● Passion for strengthening families and building community
● Proficiency with basic technology (email, spreadsheets, data tracking systems)
● Demonstrated ability to build rapport with diverse families, staff, volunteers, and
community partners
● Ability to meet deadlines with strong attention to detail
● High level of integrity and professionalism
● Growth mindset with adaptability and flexibility
● Ability to receive and implement direction from leadership
● Strong commitment to the mission, vision, and values of Babe of Wabash County

Physical Requirements
● Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
● Ability to stand for extended periods during programming
● Ability to set up and tear down program spaces
● Ability to use stairs
● Ability to work in environments that range from quiet to active and occasionally noisy
