Water Softener Installer Technician

Overview
As a Water Softener Installer Technician, you will be responsible for the professional installation, maintenance, and repair of residential and commercial water treatment systems. You will diagnose water quality issues and ensure that every customer receives the best possible solution for their needs.
This is a Trainee position. You will ride with and learn from current Service Technician.

Primary Responsibilities
• Installation & Setup: Install water softeners, reverse osmosis systems, and iron filters according to manufacturer specifications and local plumbing codes.
• Diagnostics & Repair: Troubleshoot existing systems to identify mechanical issues, leaks, or performance drops and perform necessary repairs.
• Water Quality Testing: Conduct on-site water analysis to test for hardness, iron, pH levels, and other contaminants to recommend appropriate treatment options.
• Customer Education: Clearly explain system operations, maintenance requirements (like salt replenishment), and the benefits of treated water to clients.
• Inventory & Maintenance: Manage stock on service vehicles and ensure all tools and equipment are kept in optimal operating condition.
• Documentation: Complete service records, customer invoices, and required regulatory paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.

Key Skills & Qualifications
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with plumbing tasks such as soldering, pipe-threading, and using pro-press tools.
• Mechanical Aptitude: Strong ability to diagnose and fix mechanical malfunctions in pressurized systems.
• Customer Service: Excellent communication skills to build rapport with clients and handle inquiries professionally.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy equipment (often up to 100 lbs), work in confined spaces, and handle varying weather conditions.

Certification Requirements:
• A valid driver's license with a clean driving record is essential.

Standard Work Environment
• Field-Based: Significant time spent traveling to various residential and commercial customer locations.
• Safety First: Required use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to OSHA safety protocols.
