Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Shop Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the workflow of the Wabash Trucking Maintenance department, as well as providing administrative assistance from an Inventory and Parts standpoint within all Wabash Trucking properties.

 

 

 

REPORTS TO: Director of Logistics

 

 

 

SUPERVISES: N/A

 

 

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Keep the parts room organized and appropriately stocked. 
  • Source parts through multiple vendors.
  • Prioritizing repairs for the semi fleet and assigning necessary tasks to the team of diesel techs and mechanics. 
  • Plans preventative maintenance repairs and timetables for completion. 
  • Generate customized and standard reports, ensuring they are issued within required time frames.  
  • Process routine and corrective maintenance work orders, track to ensure timely completion, close out work orders and bring forward outstanding items or anomalies as required. 
  • Data entry for new and existing equipment, parts, generate labels and update maintenance schedules or job plans. Reorder inventory, cycle counts, restock inventory and set / adjust reorder points. 
  • Coordinate the preventative maintenance schedule with the maintenance teams, generate and distribute the schedule(s), amend and track changes as may be required. 
  • Coordinate job plan updates, input changes into the system, issue and communicate changes to maintenance teams. 
  • Conduct training and information sessions on the CMMS program for maintenance team members. 
  • Perform administrative duties including faxing, scanning and providing overall CMMS program support to the maintenance teams. 
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Regular and timely attendance are an expectation of the position.
  • Follow the 5S foundations for deploying lean production tools and processes.

 

Requirements

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Computer literacy & proficiency.

  • Self-starter that takes initiative. 
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills. 
  • Ability to multitask and adhere to deadlines. 
  • Self-motivated individual that can work independently and within a team. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Physical Activity: Talking, hearing, repetitive motion, stooping, crouching, standing, walking, lifting, and climbing stairs. 
  • Physical Requirements: Exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.? 
  • Visual Acuity: Required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading.
