Job Description

Responsibilities:

Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures which includes a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk. Identifies and recommends updates to policies, processes and procedures.

Responsible for ledger maintenance and updates.

Responsible to produce periodic financial reports, financial statements, financial strategy, annual reports that support organizational leadership. Ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles including reconciliation capability.

Establishes (after approvals) benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance.

Produces the company’s annual budget with forecasts and reports significant budget variants to management.

Responsible for financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions and significant contract negotiations.

Complete credit applications, resolve software/IT issues.

Communicate with customers as necessary for purposes of pricing, invoice/payment requirements.

Works with external auditors and provides appropriate information for the annual audit. Insure correct and timely closing and month end and annually.

Establish and maintain fiscal files including records documenting transactions.

Files quarterly and annual reports with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Responsible for preparation of the corporate tax return.

Serve as back-up for bi-weekly payroll processing for the organization. Also ensure the W-2 process is appropriate.

Responsible for managing Vendor Tax Exemptions, W-9’s and 1099’s.

Oversee banking transactions, ACH/Wire payments, etc.

Ensures compliance with local, state and federal government financial requirements.

Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's degree preferred)
- CPA certification is highly desirable
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial accounting or related roles
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of accounting principles
- Experience in public accounting is a plus
- Knowledge of technical accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP)
- Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements
- Proficiency in general ledger accounting and account analysis
- Experience with budgeting and corporate accounting
