Position: Groundskeeper

Position Overview: Assist Grounds Supervisor in general grounds maintenance of the Campus
Essential job functions:
Work with Supervisor to maintain all outdoor spaces year-round (including but not limited to mowing, trimming, blowing, and weed control/fertilization)
Tree and shrub care/pruning
Snow removal
General campus cleanup (litter, leaves, debris)
Maintaining flower beds/pulling weeds
Prepare athletic fields for game day as directed
Secondary Job Functions
Supervise student grounds crew as needed
Supervise recycling crews as needed
Maintain supporting equipment and structures related to athletic fields (including but not limited to painting, bleacher repair, and fence repair)
All other duties as directed by Supervisor
Qualifications:
Must demonstrate a commitment to fostering an environment of diversity and inclusion among students, faculty, and staff.
General knowledge of using power tools including chain saws, mowers, hedge trimmers, string trimmers, blowers, and spraying equipment
1 or more years of grounds keeping experience is preferred
Ability to communicate, and listen to instructions
High school education or equivalency
Driver's license
Ability to work with staff and students
General knowledge/Experience of operating equipment including riding mowers, tractors, backhoe, manual/automatic transmission trucks, and snow removal equipment (plow, broom, and blower)
Self-motivated, lift heavy equipment, and able to operate equipment for long periods of time
Ability to lift heavy objects (60+ pounds)
Knowledge of athletic field maintenance and game day preparation preferred.
